About Kimberly Lytle

It’s all about sharing my passion and bringing joy to my students. I have been in aquatics for 50 years. Over that time, I have earned my share of certifications from numerous agencies in the fields of swim instruction, lifeguarding, boating safety, and CPR/AED/First Aid. I am the happiest when I am in the water relating my life
experiences.

Mermaid Aquatics USA was named for a young lady that I taught many years ago. As a 5 year old she wanted to be a mermaid. I was her first swim teacher and taught her to swim like a mermaid. 25 years later she came back to tell me that she had become a mermaid and even started her own mermaid company. Dream it and you can be it!

If I can change one person’s life through my interaction with them then I feel successful. I don’t know how many lives I saved as a lifeguard – its been a lot. Each day was a great day knowing that those I saved were able to go home.

I’m helping to change an island where there is an alarming rate of drownings. No one was trained to teach water safety. I have been given a lot of opportunities in my life. Its my mission to help educate communities and train future leaders in aquatics.

Hello! My name is Megan Burchins and I’m currently a Senior at the University of Central Florida. Being a life long resident of Central Florida, I have grown to love the water. Being a Water Safety Instructor is a great honor because I get to teach an important life saving skill to all ages.

I have been affiliated with the American Red Cross since 2016 holding certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid and Water Safety Instructor. I received the 2017 Water Safety Instructor of the Year Award.
